Why Choose Functional Medicine?
At Vitality at GLO Antiaging, we are committed to helping you achieve your optimal health and wellness goals. Our approach, rooted in Functional Medicine, focuses on addressing the underlying causes of health issues, taking into account genetics, environment, and lifestyle.

Our Approach to Functional Medicine for our patients in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia:
Our Functional Medicine experts work closely with patients, creating a therapeutic partnership. We believe in active patient participation and emphasize lifestyle changes, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress management, as key components of individualized treatment plans. Your unique situation and goals will be considered, leading to an improved overall sense of health and well-being.
How Functional Medicine Differs from Conventional
Functional medicine takes a personalized, root-cause approach, focusing on the unique needs of each individual. Unlike conventional care, which often treats symptoms, functional medicine looks at the underlying imbalances affecting your health.
It emphasizes prevention and long-term wellness through lifestyle and nutritional interventions like diet, sleep, stress management, and movement. Appointments are typically longer and more in-depth, allowing time for thorough assessments and patient education, so you can actively participate in your health journey.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
At Vitality at GLO Antiaging, we offer a personalized approach to naturally optimizing hormones, ensuring safety and effectiveness. Bioidentical hormones mirror the molecular structure of natural hormones, often compounded by specialized pharmacies. Some may include patented pharmaceuticals as part of your treatment plan. Additionally, we consider the influence of key nutrients and lifestyle factors on hormone stability.
Balancing the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal Axis and Thyroid Health
The Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) axis acts as a critical feedback loop, regulating our central stress response system and governing processes such as digestion, immunity, mood, emotions, sexuality, and energy. The thyroid gland also plays a pivotal role, affecting metabolism and energy levels. Our comprehensive approach evaluates the intricate interplay of organs and hormones to enhance your health and vitality. Your individualized treatment plan addresses the factors influencing this system, aiming to make positive improvements.
Customized Weight Management and Nutrition Plans
We tailor our diet and nutrition plans to address each patient's specific health and weight goals. While the ketogenic diet is popular, the "dirty keto" trend can have adverse health effects. At Vitality at GLO Antiaging, we guide you towards a successful "clean keto" approach or offer alternative strategies for your weight management plan. Recognizing that the right nutritional approach varies from one patient to another, we provide numerous treatment options. We may also incorporate intermittent fasting and fasting mimicking diets when suitable as part of your treatment plan.
