Menopause Care

Menopause is defined as having no menstrual period for 12 months

Menopause typically occurs around the age of 51, and for many women, this phase can be a time of significant upheaval, often feeling like a transition into a different person. Recognizing that this experience is not always positive, our clinic adopts a proactive stance. We advocate for beginning treatment in the perimenopausal period, rather than waiting for menopause to officially start. This approach has proven highly beneficial for most women. However, it is important to understand that it is never too early or too late to begin treatment during the menopause transition. During these various stages of hormonal changes, our clinic is dedicated to providing support and understanding. We emphasize a comprehensive approach to ease this transition, focusing on lifestyle modifications and informed choices. Our goal is to empower women with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate this phase with confidence and comfort.

Menopause Symptoms

Common symptoms associated with menopause include hot flashes, night sweats, moods swings, irritability, headaches, sleep disturbances, joint pain, brain fog and issues with concentration, low libido, dry skin and hair, weight gain around the midsection, facial hair growth, urinary symptoms, and vaginal dryness. Just because the symptoms are common doesn't mean there is nothing we can do to help alleviate them.

These symptoms are a result of loss of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.

There are many interventions that can ease this transition for women. Vitality at GLO Antiaging offers a range of strategies to support women during this important phase of their lives. Our approach begins with essential lifestyle adjustments, emphasizing adequate sleep, a diet rich in nutrient-dense whole foods, effective stress management techniques, and regular physical activity. Additionally, we'll explore vital vitamins and supplements that could be advantageous. Following this, we will discuss medications, providing a balanced view of their risks and benefits. Our goal is to empower you with knowledge, enabling you to make a well-informed choice about what's best for your hormonal health journey.

Menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy

The 2002 Women's Health Initiative study significantly influenced perceptions of hormone replacement therapy, instilling widespread apprehension. As a result, many women discontinued their hormone treatments, and numerous healthcare providers developed a cautious stance towards prescribing them. This dated study still hinders women from accessing treatments informed by newer research.

At GLO, we are committed to educating women and offering personalized, evidence-based solutions tailored to individual needs. This may involve the consideration and prescribing of hormone replacement therapy.
