Perimenopause Care

Perimenopause is the transition period into menopause that can start as early as age 35 years

Perimenopause may commence as early as 35 and persist until menopause is confirmed (marked by 12 months without a menstrual cycle), usually between 48 to 54 years of age, or sometimes longer. During this phase, women may experience up to 37 distinct symptoms, such as night sweats, hot flashes, tender breasts, irregular or heavy menstrual cycles, intense PMS, mood fluctuations, sleep disturbances, fatgue, urinary issues, altered libido, and shifts in muscle and fat distribution.

This stage is characterized by significant hormonal shifts which can profoundly affect a woman's quality of life. Despite common beliefs that these changes are normal and inevitable and nothing can be done about them, our clinic takes an active approach to managing perimenopause. We emphasize the importance of initiating treatment during perimenopause rather than waiting until menopause fully sets in. This proactive strategy has been highly effective for the majority of our patients.

How to Ease the Perimenopause Transition?

Perimenopause can last on average 4 years, but in some extends for 10 years. This is a long time to not experience optimal health. There are numerous interventions to ease this transition. In functional medicine we always look at the whole patient and believe that all our systems are interconnected. We have hormone receptors on every organ of our body, that is why hormone changes do not impact our sex organs they can wreak havoc on our entire body.

Our mission is to help women ease through this transition. We want to hear your story and co-create a plan to help you optimize your health. To live with vitality. This always includes lifestyle hacks and sometimes supplements or prescription medications. Treatment is tailored to your goals and personal needs.

Is there a quick fix? No there is not.

But that doesn’t mean there are not solutions that can help you. Solutions will be individualized to help address lifestyle and hormonal imbalances and improve overall health and well being.

Don’t suffer alone, we are here to support you through the process.
